ISDO History
Initiative for Social Development Organization (ISDO Rwanda ) was created in 2015.It has 87 active members including 71 women.It is based Kigali city, kimironko.

“ISDO” has highly qualified members with varied experiences in the NGOs field.
IV. ACADEMIC EDUCATION
87 members of ISDO Rwanda have university levels namely:
– 2 members have PHD Degrees
– 41 members have Masters Degrees
– 44 members have Bachelor’s Degrees

VI. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
“ISDO” has 12 permanent staff and 6 highly qualified volunteers all with university level in various fields such as Political Science, Law, Economics, Sociology and Development Studies.
ISDO has a team management with over 10 years of experience in the following areas:
Savings and Loan methodology(VLS), project management, policy analysis and lobbying and advocacy, food security, human resource management, programs monitoring and evaluation, community management, Good Governance and Democracy, human rights monitoring, documentation and reporting, and Horticulture Post harvest management skills.
VII. CAPACITY OF FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
“ISDO” has a good capacity of financial management; it has a Financial and Administrative Director. We also have an Accountant and a Cashier and adequate accounting software. We produce accounting and financial reports audited by independent audit firms.

IX. PROJECT EXECUTED
Successfully ISDO has already realized the following projects:
• Monitoring of prisoner’s rights in Rwanda
• Ensuring rights to access and management of land for rural women of Muhanga and Karongi District
• Distribution of vine cuttings of Orange Fleshed Sweet Potatoes (OFSP) in Huye
• Distribution of small livestock in the Kabacuzi Sector of Muhanga District.
• Improving Citizen Participation in decision making process in Muhanga and Karangi District,
X. PERSPECTIVE
– We are planning to open 10 branches of “ISDO” within 5 years, which means 2 branches per year in five Districts.
– And create a “think tank” office that will be responsible for conducting analyzes in the field of sustainable development and good governance in Rwanda.
ISDO Governance
ISDO has a Board of Administrative Council, which is elected for a renewable five-year term. It holds all administrative and management powers. The Board of Directors consists of President, Executive Director, Program Manager,Project Coordinater and Accountant.
The President of the Administrative Council is the Legal Representative of the organization and holds the power to initiate and negotiate any agreement for the organization. The Board of Administrative Council meets once quarterly, but may meet more often in extraordinary situations or whenever the organization requires.
It has the power to nominate the Executive Director. In addition, it also has the competency to present General Assembly, to adopt laws and internal regulations, to replace and establish Signatories and to recruit Agents.
